Progress across the Anfield Project continues with the next phases of demolition about to take place as part of ambitious regeneration plans in the north Liverpool area, according to the Liverpool Express.

Bulldozers are readying to demolish 42 vacant properties on Baltic and Burnand Streets and seven in Rockfield Road to prepare the way for creating a new Business Hub and open space to benefit the local area and its community.

This work follows the successful completion of an earlier phase of the Project which saw the demolition of over 150 vacant houses on nearby Hartnup Street, Donaldson Street, Granton Road, Salisbury Road and St Domingo Vale, which began in July.

The cleared land will be used to build more than 100 new social and private homes constructed by housing developer Keepmoat Ltd. The work is expected to commence late next year with a view to completion in two to three years’ time.

It is anticipated that registered social landlord Your Housing Group will take ownership of some of the properties for rental to tenants.

The £260m regeneration vision for Anfield was unveiled in June by a consortium led by Liverpool City Council with support from Your Housing Group, Liverpool Football Club and other partners including Keepmoat Ltd.
