Commenting on the third quarter GDP figures, UKCG Director Stephen Ratcliffe welcomed the second consecutive quarter of construction growth.

Mr Ratcliffe said: "We are encouraged to see construction output growing for two quarters in a row – though there is still more to do before the industry is back on a securely upwards path.

"There is emerging optimism amongst UKCG members, and we will continue to work with government to help build industry confidence. By setting out a future programme of public sector construction work Ministers have started to give greater certainty to the industry. The priority now is to accelerate deal flow and turn the pipeline into projects on the ground."
