The first phase of homes on a £11.2 million affordable housing scheme at Booth Rise in Northampton has been completed.
This major new housing scheme, off Lumbertubs Way towards the north east of the town, is under construction by Loughborough-based contractor and developer, William Davis Ltd and comprises 111 homes and apartments. The first phase, of ten homes, was completed earlier this month and handed over to affordable housing provider, Orbit Homes ahead of first occupancies in October.
The first scheme of this kind in Northampton, Booth Rise will include 99 two, three and four bedroom houses (11 of which are to Mobility Standard) and 12 one and two bedroom apartments for either affordable rent or shared ownership.
Matt Colloby, group business development manager at William Davis said: "Booth Rise has been designed to help alleviate Northampton’s shortage of affordable housing, so we are obviously pleased to reach the milestone of handing over the first phase to Orbit. As we approach the halfway point of the build programme, we look forward to the completion of the whole scheme and the creation of quality new homes for over 100 local families."
Working in partnership with Orbit Homes, Northampton Borough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency, William Davis is constructing Booth Rise to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, meaning the homes will include such energy saving measures as heat recovery units and rain water harvesting tanks.
