Balfour Beatty, through its Mansell brand, hosted an open evening for pupils from Lochaber High School and their families at the new Police and Ambulance Station being constructed in Fort William.
The group of students has made frequent tours of the site since construction began in February this year, facilitated by Balfour Beatty as part of its commitment to local community engagement. The pupils have been watching the progress of the building and learning about potential career opportunities in the construction industry.
As completion of the £3.7 million, two-storey combined police and ambulance facility nears completion, Balfour Beatty also wanted to offer the pupils’ parents a chance to see what their children have been experiencing over the past months.
Tony Elrick, Balfour Beatty Project Manager, said: "Working with this group of young people throughout the duration of the project has been a truly rewarding experience. We felt an open evening would be a good way to thank them for their enthusiasm and also to let their parents see what they’ve been talking about after their visits to the site.
"We are delighted to have been able to establish this relationship with Lochaber High School."
