King's Lynn Regeneration Project Opens To The Public

Students from The College of West Anglia were among visitors who went behind the scenes at the major estate regeneration programme which local housing regeneration specialist Lovell is undertaking for Freebridge Community Housing in King's Lynn.

A total of 83 visitors toured the Hillington Square project through the Open Doors initiative.

The event in King's Lynn included site tours, hands-on activities and workshops, careers and training advice and the opportunity to talk to the Lovell team working on the extensive improvement programme.

It formed part of the nationwide Open Doors scheme aimed at raising the profile of construction and encouraging more people to consider working in the industry with construction projects across the UK open to the public. The initiative was organised by leading industry bodies the UK Contractors Group, Chartered Institute of Building, the Considerate Constructors Scheme and training organisation CITB.

Lovell has just started work on the extensive improvement scheme at Hillington Square, which will include kitchen and bathroom replacements for the estate's 320 flats, as well as window and door renewals, insulation work and other improvements such as external cladding, rebuilding of balconies and walkways, construction of new staircases, installation of secure entrances and new lifts and remodelling of garages.
