Amey has secured an eight year multi-million pound contract with one of the north of England's leading gas distributers, Northern Gas Networks, to support the delivery of its 3,800km gas mains replacement programme.
The contract is worth around £144 million and will ensure that, together with Northern Gas Networks, the infrastructure remains fit for purpose to allow the continued safe and reliable delivery of gas to homes and businesses across the North of England.
The team will be responsible for maintaining over 37,000km of gas pipeline, delivering service and meter connections, as well as supporting the client with emergency repairs.
The award of the contract continues our long standing relationship with Northern Gas Networks and positions Amey as one of their main partners and suppliers of gas maintenance services across the network.
Mel Ewell, Chief Executive of Amey, said: "Securing this contract is great news for the business and testament to our collaborative partnership with Northern Gas Networks. We look forward to continuing to work closely together, to deliver a service that the communities in the North of England can fully rely on."
