Laing O'Rourke has joined a select number of high-performing construction firms as an 'associate member' of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS).

To qualify for associate membership, companies must have proved their commitment to improving the image of the construction industry by consistently upholding the principles of considerate construction. They must also commit to register all their sites with the scheme for a period of three years.

In return, Laing O'Rourke will be invited to input into the scheme, participating in discussions on its administration and future direction. The business will join other associate members and the CCS board twice yearly to review progress and agree priorities.

Paul Lynchehaun, Health, Safety and Sustainability Director for Laing O' Rourke's Europe hub said: "We are delighted to have become an associate member of the CCS – an organisation which shares our long-held ambition to enhance the reputation of our industry. The CCS represents the benchmark of good practice and we look forward to playing a part in its ongoing success."
