Galliford Try, the housebuilding and construction group, has announced that it has been appointed to two new construction contracts across the Midlands, worth a total of £48 million.

Firstly, Birmingham and Solihull Local Improvement Finance Trust (‘BasLIFT’) has reached financial close with Galliford Try Building to construct the new Birmingham Dental Hospital on the Pebble Mill site in the city. The £34 million project will see the existing Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust and University of Birmingham facility at St Chad’s Circus move premises.

Secondly, the University of Nottingham has appointed Galliford Try Building to extend and refurbish the George Green Engineering and Science Library at its University Park campus under a £14 million construction contract. A new three storey, 7,300 sqm extension will be built, in addition to internal and external refurbishment of the existing four storey library complex.
