One of the country's leading independent schools, Magdalen College School in Oxford appointed Blakedown Sport & Play to design and build their new artificial sports pitch.

The land which is owned by Magdalen College, an Oxford University College will be home to a new full size state-of-the-art sports pitch and changing facilities which Blakedown are installing.


Designed in house by Blakedown Sport & Play the pitch, to be used for hockey & football, will be constructed onto an engineered base with two layer macadam, a 15mm in-situ shockpad and surfaced with the high end sand-dressed monofilament hockey surface Edel Triple T. Twin-bar fencing with recesses surrounds the pitch which a large tarmac spectator area and tree planting to complete this exciting and high profiled facility.

The project funded by MCS means that pupils will no longer need to be "bussed" around the county hiring pitches for training and tournaments, and is an eagerly awaited addition to the school’s existing top class facilities.
