Mansell Awarded Twelve Construction Projects

Mansell has been allocated 12 major construction projects for Birmingham City Council as part of the Constructing West Midlands framework.

The projects, worth £20m, are to be carried out in the city centre, Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Stirchley, Kings Heath, Bournville, Yardley and across Birmingham and include school extensions, a community centre and work on homes and sheltered housing schemes.

Mansell will shortly begin work on a contract to relocate and upgrade Uffculme Special Education Needs School in Kings Heath. The £3m project involves extending and refurbishing the listed Chamberlain House to provide a new school building, as well as a new entrance and remodelling work.

In South Yardley, Mansell will carry out work valued at £2.5m at Bierton Road Primary School. The project involves the refurbishment of existing buildings to create new primary school classrooms.

In Selly Oak, Mansell has been appointed to carry out structural repairs to blocks of four-storey maisonettes in Fladbury Crescent and Gibbins Lane. Mansell is to carry out similar work at Hampton Court and Richmond Court in Edgbaston. The repair and refurbishment projects are worth £2.9m.

Other projects include digital door entry installations at flats and apartment blocks throughout Birmingham, improvements and decorations to external and communal areas of homes in the city, and improvements, alterations and redecoration of sheltered housing schemes in various parts of Birmingham.

All of the projects will be delivered through the Constructing West Midlands framework, administered by Acivico, Birmingham City Council's construction and property services arm.
