Glebe Primary School in Fenton is set to gain improved facilities thanks to Kier Stoke, which is undertaking the construction of an extension along with additional refurbishments to a value of £750,000.

The extension will replace existing mobile classrooms and comprises four new permanent classrooms along with brand new toilets, changing rooms, cloakroom areas and storage rooms.

The works have begun on site now that pupils at the school have finished their SAT exams, ensuring their revision and tests were not disrupted. Now that construction has started, temporary classrooms have been installed by Kier Stoke for the duration of the improvements, allowing school life to continue unaffected.

Kier regional Managing Director, David Mawson, said: "This is an exciting project for Glebe Primary School, which will see it gain improved facilities and a refreshed environment for its pupils and local community. With the addition of temporary classrooms, we are confident the school will be able to continue as normal while the works take place and pupils will be able to start the new year with brand new facilities to enjoy."
