Housing developer Lovell has won a national award for its work on a new housing development in Mexborough.
The Lovell team has been presented with a bronze Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Award for its approach to the 39-home Kirby Street development for Doncaster Council.
The independently assessed Considerate Constructors Scheme accolade recognises construction teams displaying excellent standards of consideration towards their neighbours, their workforce, the general public and the environment.
The Kirby Street development will create 27 homes for open market sale; seven for rent through Guinness Northern Counties and five offered through the Lovell Choice shared ownership scheme. The feedback report from the Considerate Constructors Scheme inspector – who awarded a score of 36.5 out of 40 – underlined the site's 'high degree of compliance' with the Scheme objectives and commitment to local residents. The site team maintained contact with residents living nearby during the work, the site access and surrounding roads were swept regularly and all loading and deliveries were handled within the compound or site to minimise disruption.
Lovell regional director Tony Tann said: "I would like to congratulate everyone involved in building this development. Achieving the National Site Award highlights the importance we place on working with care and consideration for the environment and the local community."
