UCATT have appointed Denis Doody as their new Regional Secretary for the Northern Region.

Mr Doody began work as a bricklayer by trade. Prior to his appointment he was the Chair of UCATT's Executive Council where he represented the union’s Yorkshire region. Mr Doody was previously employed by Wakefield and District Housing.

Mr Doody said: "I am honoured to have been appointed Northern Regional Secretary, it is a region I have had relations with for almost 25 years and an area with a rich history in the Labour and trade union movement. I look forward to the task of working alongside colleagues in the north east to ensure the region reaches its full potential."
