Six apprenticeship placements, designed to help young people kick-start their careers, have been created through the unique partnership between the City of Lincoln Council and Kier.

Vacancies will be available in joinery, plumbing, painting and decorating and technical trades, working alongside repairs and maintenance staff, and are aimed at young people living in the city. Four of the positions are with Kier, which provides maintenance services to social housing in the city, and two are with the City of Lincoln Council’s City Maintenance Service - providers of day-to-day housing repairs. Successful applicants will work alongside a dedicated mentor to achieve their NVQ qualifications and will attend Lincoln or Doncaster College to get their technical expertise and certification.

The apprentices will carry out a comprehensive induction covering subjects such as health & safety and customer care before starting their full-time roles.
