Morgan Sindall Completes Phase At White Spire School

Morgan Sindall has marked the completion of a key phase of work at White Spire School in Bletchley with a celebratory ceremony at the school.

The company is currently expanding the school as part of a £1.7 million project for Milton Keynes Council and has now completed the construction of the school's new teaching and learning block. The new block includes six new classrooms and a sixth form common room. The building also includes features to improve access for students and teachers with disabilities, including a platform lift and accessible bathrooms.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Catriona Morris, who cut a ribbon to mark the completion of the new building during the celebrations. Cllr Morris was joined at the event by local councillors, governors, teachers, pupils and members of the Morgan Sindall site team.

Maria Penicud, head teacher at White Spire School, said: "We're delighted to be marking the completion of our brand new building with this ceremony. This is an exciting and important milestone in the wider scheme of work to upgrade the school and the new block will provide students and teachers with a first-class learning and teaching environment."

The Morgan Sindall team will also be refurbishing existing elements of the school and will be expanding corridors, redecorating classrooms, and building a new primary play area for pupils. The project team is now a third of the way through these wider refurbishment works to update the school and this part of the project is due to complete this summer.

Bob Ensch, Morgan Sindall area director, said: "We're delighted to have completed work on the new teaching and learning block. This is a key part of the school’s upgrade and expansion and will provide pupils and teachers with much improved facilities.

"Building work on the wider school upgrade and refurbishment is moving forward at a good pace and we’re making steady progress. The project team enjoys a close working relationship with the school and we are looking forward to completing work this summer."
