GB Building Solutions has been awarded a £10 million new care home for Signature Senior Lifestyle in Epsom, Surrey.

This is the third project awarded to GB by Signature following recent awards in Coombe and Marlow.

Martin Smout, chairman and chief executive of GB Group said: "This is the sixth care facility we have been awarded in the last 12 months and the third for Signature Senior Lifestyle. Our extensive knowledge of the very specific needs of this sector in catering for some of the UK's most vulnerable people and our in-depth understanding of how care facilities operate, enables us to provide tailored solutions for every care operator we work with, whether they want a niche building or something more standard."

The new care development will provide 87 private apartments comprising a mixture of studios and one-bedroom suites, 24 of which are specifically for dementia care. The development is built over three and four storeys and is complemented with facilities such as a restaurant, hair salon, lounges, entertainment rooms and a bistro.

It is anticipated that the new home will open its doors to residents in autumn 2014.
