A Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority-managed site that is steeped in history is now looking forward to a bright future, following the completion of a series of exciting renovations.

After a busy schedule of works over the winter months, Carew Castle was officially re-opened, during a visit by Welsh Government Minister for Culture and Sport, John Griffiths.

Mr Griffiths said: "When we launched the Heritage Tourism Project the aim was to support our heritage here in Wales but also use it to boost the economy through increased tourism and improved visitor experiences.

"The development of the visitor centre here in Carew Castle as well as the creation of an events space and improved access certainly meets those aims.

"It also demonstrates the benefits of being able to bring in European money, adding considerable value to the funding already put in place by the Welsh Government."

The renovation plans also include a new visitor centre and shop, as well as car park enhancements.
