Housing refurbishment specialist Lovell has been appointed by West Lancashire Borough Council as a contractor partner to help deliver its major housing modernisation programme.
Lovell will undertake a five-year contract to replace kitchens in council homes in West Lancashire, worth £4 million. The first year will see Lovell replace over 700 kitchens with work beginning this month.
The contract was awarded to Lovell through a competitive tendering process. As well as improving residents’ homes, Lovell are also set to engage with West Lancashire Construction Academy to create new opportunities for apprentices as part of the project.
"We're delighted to have been appointed to this housing refurbishment scheme which will deliver real improvements for West Lancashire residents, as well as creating opportunities for local apprentices to gain valuable site-based experience on the project," said Lovell regional director Nigel Yates.
Lovell has an extensive track record in housing improvement work, refurbishing around 20,000 homes a year in the UK.
