London Array has officially become the world's largest operational offshore wind farm.
The site includes 141 operational turbines which are now able to generate 507 Mega Watts of energy for UK homes and businesses.
Leader of Thanet District Council, Cllr Clive Hart, said: "This is a fantastic achievement for London Array and great recognition for Thanet. I'm delighted that we're able to host their Operation and Maintenance base and their contractors on site at the Port of Ramsgate. We've seen local people employed as a result and it all helps to support the sustainability of a working port here in Thanet."
London Array first generated power in October 2012. The final turbine was installed in December 2012 and London Array anticipate that the project will be fully operational in the Spring.
The wind farm generates enough power for nearly half a million homes a year and two thirds of the homes are in Kent.
