Pupils from Danygraig Primary School, Swansea, had a close-up view of the housebuilding process during a site visit organised by Lovell.

Lovell, which is building 19 flats for rent for housing association Grŵp Gwalia at Wallace Road, Swansea, invited 65 five and six-year-old pupils on to the site to watch the new homes taking shape. The children, who wore hi-visibility protective clothing, had the chance to ask Lovell site manager Alun Williams about the development.

Lovell community liaison officer Bernadette Vickery said: "Our team were very impressed with the children’s behaviour and enjoyed their questions. The pupils were able to see the forklift in action and some had the opportunity to see the crane lifting roof trusses into position."

Construction work is now well under way at the city centre site, which was previously home to the former Margaret Street Nursery School. The site visit is one of a number of activities which Lovell has organised for children at Danygraig Primary, allowing them to find out more about the housebuilding process and see the new homes at different stages of construction.
