Pupils and teachers in Huntingdon have helped kick-start building work on their new school with a bricklaying ceremony.
Youngsters at Thongsley Fields Primary School on Buttsgrove Way gathered to watch their head teacher, Miss Myer, lay the first bricks of a new extension.
Kier Construction kitted out the children and staff in personal protective equipment (PPE), before overseeing Miss Myer make a start on the new building project.
Miss Myer commented: "This building marks the next chapter in the growth of our school and will provide new quality space for learning. The children are very excited and have enjoyed watching the project grow brick by brick. The extension will also provide a courtyard area, which will be developed into a quiet garden space for reading.
"Huntingdon Rotary Club is supporting the garden project and the Kier team, who are undertaking the main build, have been superb."
