IHP, a joint venture between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, has completed a £1.8m scheme to repair the Royal Liverpool University Dental Hospital in Merseyside.
The contract was a one year project involving structural repairs to the façade of the 1960s building, whilst working in a live environment.
Mark Thomas, Regional Director, IHP, Building Division – North West, said: "The structural repairs to the Dental Hospital will modernise and maintain the facility for the patients they care for and the local residents of Liverpool” said Mark Thomas, Regional Director for IHP.
"The scheme meant a lot to the local residents as the redevelopment reflects the regeneration of the area."
The hospital's Directorate Manager, Michelle Fleming, said: "Of all the potential inconvenience from such a big project, drilling noise was something we needed to be particularly sensitive to for the hundreds of patients who attend the dental hospital every day.
"The project benefitted from a team with established working relationships developed on previous projects and, when negotiation was needed, there was a real sense of everyone wanting to get it right for patients and staff."
