Integrated support services provider Carillion has gained a leading and internationally-recognised standard for collaborative working.
BS11000 is the first world standard for collaborative business relationships and has been developed to help companies work together more closely, and thereby generate more efficiencies and added value.
It is seen as a significant and important step for Carillion that will strengthen its relationship with key partners who are also adopting the standard.
These include Network Rail, Highways Agency, MoD, other Government departments, local authorities and a unique partnership with Oxford County Council where Carillion is already using BS11000 to develop joint relationship management plans documenting the ways in which collaborative working practices and procedures are undertaken.
Adam Green, Managing Director of Carillion Construction Services and senior executive responsible for the standard, said: "BS11000 reinforces and embeds collaboration as one of our core values and key strengths. We are a large and diverse company and this helps align the integrated approach taken within the Group to building strong and collaborative relationships - both internally and externally and with customers and suppliers."
