Carillion has become one of the first businesses in the country to be awarded Green Deal Provider status.
The accreditation will enable Carillion Energy Services to carry out energy efficiency home improvements as part of the Government's Green Deal initiative, in addition to providing Green Deal finance to its customers.
As a Green Deal Provider, Carillion will offer customers a Green Deal Plan, based on recommendations from an accredited assessor. The plan will set out the financial terms of the agreement and will include additional consumer protections such as warranties to cover the measures and installation.
Carillion will then be responsible for arranging installation of the energy efficiency works, which will be carried out by an authorised installer.
In addition, Carillion will offer access to alternative energy efficiency funding such as the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), which will replace the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) and Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) by March 2015.
Following so soon after Carillion's appointment as the exclusive delivery partner to the Birmingham Energy Savers (BES) scheme, this further strengthens our position as a market leader in the energy sector.
