deckRailXtra™ Preferred Choice For Southern Cranes And Access

Southern Cranes and Access Ltd have ordered 20 Genie GS1932 scissor lifts to be supplied by Workplatform Ltd from Derby all of which will be enhanced with the new deckRailXtra®  materials handling attachment (MHA) system offered by Aerial and Handling Services Ltd (AHS).

The 20 GS1932's will be shipped direct to AHS to have the deckRailXtra® system installed before they are delivered to the MENSA project at AWE Reading where the main contractor BAM Nuttall has already been using the deckRailXtra® system on Genie GS1932’s belonging to AHS.

"We found that the deckRailXtra system supplied by Aerial Handling through Southern Cranes and Access to be a very safe and efficient way of lifting steel rebar during the high level construction process on our project, and with only 14kg of weight being added to the Scissor lift there is little if any noticeable difference to the lifting capacity unlike some other systems we have used," saidRhys Tillman BAM Nuttall.

"Having previously had many scissor lifts on the MENSA project only to see them returned because the Contractor insisted on a Materials Handling Attachment (MHA) which we were unable to offer was frustrating but now with this new investment we have been able to win back the contractor, which is very satisfying. The Aerial and Handling Services deckRailXtra system is a real inventive step and its unique harmonised design perfectly complements the Genie GS1932 scissor. The decision to purchase these has been driven by both customer demand and the availability of a genuine MHA that does not limit or moderate the use of the host equipment," said David Dennis Southern Cranes and Access.

"We are delighted that Southern Cranes and Access have opted for our system, the endorsement from BAM Nuttall is a significant testament that the product once coupled to the Genie GS1932 is a winning formula," said Ian Harding, Director Aerial and Handling Services Ltd.
