HCA Announce First Contract Of Get Britain Building Programme

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has announced the first contract of Get Britain Building Round 2 programme with a loan investment of £1.17m to Heywood Homes to unlock an 18 home site in Brockholes, Holmfirth in rural Kirklees.

The two and three bedroom family and starter homes will be great news for local residents when completed in 2013/14 because they will provide much needed homes.

The homes will be constructed using the latest timber frame technology and the frames, roof trusses and floorings are all being made locally by Heywood Timber Engineering which is situated Halifax, less than 15 miles away from the development.

Mark Harrington, Project Manager at the HCA said: "It is satisfying to see how our investment of £1.17m is being spent to not only create homes but also support local businesses and help safeguard local employment. I look forward to visiting the site at The Cuttings, Brockholes to see progress after Christmas. Across Yorkshire GBB will be ensuring that our partners can provide over 1,500 new homes."
