Callsafe Services Limited celebrated 25 years of trading on 9th October 2012.
The company originally formed by Bruce Calder, now owned and managed by Dave Carr, has been providing health and safety services to the construction industry for many years, being incorporated as Callsafe Services Limited in October 1987.
During this time we have seen many changes, from the goal setting concepts of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the introduction of EU directives, step-change legislation such as the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations, improved working practices and the introduction of behavioural safety initiatives.
Health and safety in the workplace, particularly the construction industry, has come a long way in 25 years, but we still should not be complacent. Whilst fatality rates, accidents, injuries and ill health have reduced, we only need to look at the staggering health statistics and the numbers of prosecutions month upon month, provided by the Health and Safety Executive and our Newsletters, to see we still have a very long way to go.
In our 25 years we have worked with many clients, designers and contractors, too many to mention by name, but we thank you all for your support and wish you all well in these times of economic turmoil.
Hopefully, during those 25 years we have contributed in some small way to helping reduce risk and promote best practice. If we have helped to save one life or prevent one accident or someone becoming ill, then it has been a rewarding 25 years; and well worth the effort.
Our consultancy services, training and CDM Co-ordination provision are continuously developing to help the reduction of risk with the minimum amount of paperwork and bureaucracy and improve the effectiveness of health and safety management.
