The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Gleeson Homes are celebrating the submission of a Validation Certificate to Rotherham Council that will allow the former chemical works to be developed into 381 new homes.

As soon as the council confirm that the site has been remediated, Gleeson Homes will be able to make use of the £2.226m loan funding they have received from the HCA through the Get Britain Building Programme which will help fund the first phase of 125 homes to be built at Carlisle Park on the border of Kilnhurst and Swinton.

Craig Johns, Area manager at the HCA said: "The development at Carlisle Park offers a real choice of quality homes to local residents where they want to live at a price they can afford. Our investment will ensure that a local firm will provide these homes which will help safeguard jobs in South Yorkshire."

The first home will be completed by March 2013 and a sales office will be open from January next year.
