Lovell has been awarded a circa £1.3 million roof replacement contract by Hull City Council under the Efficiency North EN Procure Elemental Works framework.
The re-roofing works, which are due to start on site next month, will involve the removal and renewal of existing roof coverings and associated works to around 450 council properties in the city of Hull.
This is the first contract which Lovell has been awarded under the four-year, £975 million EN Procure framework following their appointment in November 2011.
Commenting on Lovell's appointment, Lee Parkinson, head of operations for YORhub Construction Frameworks for Yorkshire and Humber said: "With budgets in the social housing sector at an all time low, it’s critical that the industry considers how it can make the delivery of works more efficient and cost effective whilst delivering added value to residents and communities. Lovell has a demonstrable commitment to delivering employment and skills outcomes. Opportunities arising from these works will be great news for Hull."
The framework which has been developed by Efficiency North - a consortium of social landlords in Yorkshire and Humber aligned with YORhub Construction Frameworks - has been created to generate efficiencies in housing whilst maintaining a strong focus on core priorities such as employment and skills, economic regeneration, environment and sustainability.
