Up to £5,000 each will be awarded to organisations that can demonstrate clear community benefits and are committed to introducing sustainable energy projects including insulation, draughtproofing and renewable energy sources, such as solar panels.

Councillor Alan Clark from Nottingham City Council, said: "We'd like to see applications from community groups who are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and want to become more energy efficient.

"Whether it's tackling gas guzzling boilers or introducing eco friendly kettles, successful applicants should be able to enjoy cheaper energy bills and a sustainable future."
