The contractor, which has offices in Cardiff, will deliver the 13,000 sq m new building for Abertawe Bro Mogannwg University Health Board.

The scheme is aimed towards a BREEAM Excellent rating, with sustainability features including photovoltaic cells on the roof, use of combined heat and power, and modular services installation.

BAM has pledged to provide a number of apprenticeships and work experience placements on the project, which is included in the company’s bid for national skills academy status.

BAM has commenced work on site, running alongside work BAM is already undertaking for the hospital’s Specialist Rehabilitation Centre.

Completion is scheduled for autumn 2014.
