Residents in south Bristol can look forward to getting back into the swim at Jubilee Swimming Pool when it reopens its doors today, 1st October.

The reopening follows a £300,000 council investment and makeover.

Jubilee Swimming Pool boasts a new Expressions Gym featuring a 15-station gym suite with a mix of cardiovascular and body toning equipment.

Roof repairs, extensive maintenance works, a new reception area, improved changing facilities, refurbished pool, up-graded showers and lighting, carpeted seating areas and fresh internal and external painting and redecorating throughout are all part of the makeover.

Parkwood Community Leisure – managers of Hengrove Park Leisure Centre, the city’s flagship sports facility – will also manage and operate the newly refurbished Jubilee Swimming Pool and Expressions Gym.

A busy programme of open, public swim sessions, lane swimming, swimming for the over 50s, moonlight swims and swimming lessons for young learners is already in place.
