Vinci Construction UK, the principle contractor, is making great progress with the new state-of-the-art headquarters for Waters Corporation with the erection of the steelworks.
The company's state-of-the-art Headquarters will be a unique, 208,000 ft2, fully functioning assembly plant, office, R&D, sales and marketing facility, reflecting Waters position as leaders in their field. Consolidating the existing 4 sites located around Wythenshawe and Altrincham, the project will involve the relocation of more than 500 employees to the new site.
In choosing the 37-acre Stamford Lodge site, Waters Corporation is continuing the long legacy of mass spectrometry innovation held by the North West which started with John Dalton’s Atomic Theory in the early 1800’s.
The building is being constructed to the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methods) 'very good' standard. Waters Corporation is also committed to the sustainability of the project and protecting the local flora and fauna which has included construction of a purpose-built bat house as well as re-planting trees and landscaping the site with the aim of improving the wildlife in the area.
Paul Turner, Senior Project Manager, VINCI Construction UK, Building Division – North West, said: "The project is progressing extremely well and to the programme's objectives. We are working closely with the client to ensure the project is executed to the highest standard and exceeds the client’s expectations."
