The National Housing Federation have announced the shortlisted entries for a competition that highlights the important community work carried out by social landlords above and beyond providing homes.

The Community Impact Awards, organised by the National Housing Federation, recognise the vast range of neighbourhood projects - from anti-social behaviour initiatives to support for older people - run by housing associations.

National Housing Federation Chief Executive David Orr said: "Housing associations build futures, giving people hand-ups not handouts. Every year they plough any extra cash they make straight back into the communities they serve - helping millions of people by giving them the support to change their lives forever.

"The Community Impact Awards bring these stories to life and celebrate the hard work of housing association staff around the country. Congratulations to all those who were shortlisted."

The best in category and overall regional winners will be announced at award ceremonies across England.
