Back at the end of 2011, Guiseley Football Club in Leeds had their 1,600m² synthetic pitch updated by Bancroft Amenities with Playrite's Conqueror 50 surface. The previous synthetic pitch needed to be replaced after just a few years as it couldn’t withstand the activity from the high volume of users at Guiseley club.
This time they opted for a hard wearing, long lasting 3G surface from Playrite - Conqueror 50, an outdoor sports surface filled with sand and rubber. 3G surfaces look like grass and offers similar playing characteristics. The rubber infill allows studded boots to be used for extra grip, in addition to providing shock absorption. When installed over Playrite's Matchpad shock absorbing underlay Conqueror 50 offers extra comfort and improved playing performance. Incorporating a fine fibrillated polyethylene pile yarn that creates a dedicated 50mm football surface, the full Conqueror range meets FIFA 1 Star equivalent IATS performance standard and EN15330 Part 1.
John Bancroft, managing director at Bancroft Amenities explains how: "I was approached by the club, who had previously had another 3G pitch installed but sadly it only lasted 3 years. We already have a strong relationship with Playrite and have confidence in the quality of their range so we immediately recommended their Conqueror 50 as an alternative. Guiseley were impressed, and the project got underway almost immediately."
Roger Whitworth from the club comments: "Everyone is very pleased with the new Conqueror surface manufactured by Playrite and the players really notice the difference in terms of playing performance compared to our last pitch. The pitch is used every day and can easily withstand the constant use."
