Local residents and businesses are being invited to have their say over the £18.5 million plans to transform housing in the Edge Hill area of Liverpool.

Consultation is underway on phase two of the Williamson Place housing development, which is proposed to deliver nearly 150 new homes on land bounded by Wavertree Road, Marmaduke Street, Gladstone Road and Dorothy Drive.

A public event is being held on Wednesday 5 September, 2pm – 5.30pm at the Job Bank on Tunnel Road. It will give local residents the chance to see an exhibition of the proposals and air their views over the plans.

Delivered by Liverpool City Council, in partnership with Bellway Homes, the scheme will provide a diverse range of modern family properties, for sale.

Around three quarters of the properties will be three and four bedroom homes, with the remainder being two bed houses and bungalows. All will have off-street car parking, gardens to the front and rear, and include innovative 'heat recovery' ventilation systems which reduce energy use.

The first phase of the Williamson Place scheme is due to be completed in Spring 2013 with the completion of 164 new-build homes.
