Morgan Sindall has won a contract to expand Cayley Primary School in London’s Tower Hamlets, as part of a £4.9 million scheme.
The project will see the existing four storey Victorian school extended from a two form entry school to a three form entry school. The development will also include the construction of an additional nursery class and is due to be completed in October next year.
Staff and pupils at the school will remain on site and continue with their normal activities during the construction process, so the design of the extension to the building has been adapted to ensure that there is minimal disruption to day-to-day school activities.
Morgan Sindall was appointed to the project through the £1 billion Improvement and Efficiency South East (iESE) framework, one of the key construction frameworks in London and the South East.
