BP, one of the world's leading energy companies, has chosen Select Plant Hire to deliver a rapid solution to increasing space requirements at its International Centre for Business & Technology (ICBT) in Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex.
The contract, for 3,960 sq metres arranged over three floors, will provide additional office space for over 300 BP employees.
The units will be fully air conditioned and integrated into BP's IT networks, with raised floors and suspended ceilings. They complement the Group's DfMA philosophy with every unit coming pre-installed with windows, doors and M&E fittings, ready for assembly on site. Select Plant Hire's Site Solutions team offer a complete design-to-handover facility, which has already won many fans in the educational sector. Aside from internal site accommodation, this is the first major commercial contract for modular accommodation and the largest external contract Select Plant Hire has secured to date.
"We've been able to design a bespoke solution for BP's growing office requirements, with the ability to hand over a structure ready for use within 6 months from commencement on site," said Ashley Clough, Select Plant Hire's Site Solutions Leader. "In many cases, the use of modular accommodation is now indistinguishable from traditional construction, but with the substantial benefits of fast delivery, flexible design and economic efficiency."
