Lovell has secured a leading safety award for its work at a major housing regeneration scheme in Chandler's Ford.
Lovell received a British Safety Council International Safety Award with merit for its health and safety regime at the Velmore Estate, where the company is building 189 energy-efficient homes for affordable rent on behalf of Hampshire housing association First Wessex.
The award recognises the firm’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety and was one of 13 presented to the company in the region.
"Safety is our foremost priority and these awards both underline that commitment and the hard work by our site teams and subcontractors to ensure the wellbeing of our workforce and of those who live or work near our developments," said Lovell regional business systems manager Alex Wood.
Congratulating the award winners, Alex Botha, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said: "What the winners have demonstrated is that well-managed health and safety ensures the safety and wellbeing of their employees and contributes to business effectiveness and success."
