The winners of the UK Housing Awards 2012 have been announced and housing associations featured prominently amongst the finalists and winners.
Federation members won nine of the 16 awards, also open to other housing providers such as local authorities and arms length management organisations.
Amongst the winners were:
•Business transformation of the year – Amicus Horizon
•Community initiative of the year – Derwentside Homes
•Development of the year: large schemes – BCHA
•Development of the year: small schemes – Radian
•Most efficient landlord of the year – Derwentside Homes
•Partnership of the year – Lancashire Housing Partnership (group representing Calico, Community Gateway, Harvest Housing, Housing Pendle, Hyndburn Homes and Twin Valley Homes
•Small housing association of the year – Westfield Housing Association
•Specialist housing provider of the year – Kemble Housing Ltd
•Landlord of the year – Westfield Housing Association
Roy Irwin, former Audit Commission chief inspector, was also presented with the new lifetime achievement award.
Federation chief executive David Orr said: "Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of the UK Housing Awards 2012.
"All around the country I see evidence of our members’ innovation and excellence, and it is great to see their hard work recognised by the sector."
