The Romsey office of Midas Construction has announced new contracts in the South region worth over £14 million.

The new work includes a £6.5 million negotiated contract for the redevelopment of the 8000m2 Porstwood House, Southampton, on behalf of Ageas Insurance Limited involving a complete strip and refit of the prominent two storey building.

Midas has also secured another £1.1 million in summer works contracts at the University of Portsmouth in addition to the £2m refurbishment of St Andrew's Court already underway in central Portsmouth.

Other new instructions include a £5m contract for a new music block for a private school, a £1 million crematorium for Salisbury and a fourth contract for Associated British Ports at their Southampton Town Quay complex worth £600,000.

Midas Divisional Director Paul Strachan, said: "We are delighted with these new contracts. They will provide much needed local jobs and will be a boost to the local economies through the supply chain."
