Blue3, a consortium comprising Kier and Calderpeel Partnership Limited, has been named preferred bidder to design, rebuild and maintain 11 fire stations, for a combined £50m, throughout Staffordshire on behalf of the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Kier will begin construction in early 2013 and, once complete, will maintain the community fire stations over a 25-year concession period.

This follows the recent selection of Blue3 to design, build, finance and maintain nine fire stations for the London Fire Brigade.
