BAM Construction has commenced delivery of the £23 million final phase of the Regent Quarter development in central London.

The project comprises a seven-storey residential block providing 35 luxury apartments; a six-storey office block; and a five-storey block comprising one retail and three residential units.

Conversion of a listed former horse stables into offices complete the deal, which sees BAM return to the development it first worked on in the late 1990s.

Geothermal cooling systems and bio-diverse roofs will be among the sustainability credentials of the new buildings, with the office space aiming for a BREAAM Excellent rating.

Local suppliers and apprentices are being taken on from the King’s Cross area.

Piling started in early December ahead of the full contract award, and the concrete frame is now complete. The project is scheduled to complete in April 2013.
