Residents living in affordable homes across Northamptonshire are set to benefit from an improvement scheme worth around £12m.
Birmingham-based affordable housing and regeneration specialist Lovell have been appointed by Daventry & District Housing and Rockingham Forest Housing Association, who have joined forces on the four-year programme.
The work for Rockingham Forest Housing Association (RFHA) will include fitting new kitchens and bathrooms, as well as roof repairs.
For Daventry & District Housing (DDH) the contract will form the second phase of its home improvement programme, launched in 2007. It will visit 1,000 homes to complete kitchen and bathroom replacements, rewires and heating upgrades where needed.
As part of the contract, Lovell will also appoint one new apprentice for every £1m generated in turnover.
David Gough, regional director of Lovell, said: "We have enjoyed working with Daventry & District Housing for some time and hope we have improved the lives of thousands of residents over the last few years. We’re really pleased to have been chosen to continue that work. We are also delighted to be able to begin work with Rockingham Forest Housing Association and offer them the same combination of high-quality products and service at a price that really maximises their resources. We look forward to meeting their residents and transforming their homes."
The contract will be managed by Futures Housing Group, of which DDH is a part.
