E.ON To Participate In Which? Big Switch

E.ON has confirmed that it will participate in one of the Which? Big Switch auctions1 and has promised that, should it win the auction, it will make that winning tariff available to all its customers.

Welcoming the initiative as another way to help increase customer engagement, Jeremy Davies, E.ON UK's Marketing Director, said: "As part of our Reset Review of our business, we have clear principles governing our actions. One of these is that we believe that all customers must be treated fairly and therefore they must be able to take advantage of every appropriate E.ON product. That is why, should it be selected by Which? at the end of their process, our ‘Big Switch' tariff will then be made available to any of our customers regardless of whether they had signed-up to the Big Switch or not. In addition to this we have made clear we will not engage in so-called ‘deep discounting' in order to win new customers.

"We want to make sure our customers are on the right tariff for their circumstances and therefore we believe Which? should be applauded for their efforts to help people engage. At the end of the day, checking your tariff and getting energy fit is the best way for each of us to get on top of rising global energy prices and control our household energy bills."
