Lovell has been selected by Parkway Green Housing Trust to build a £5.6 million, 68-home development in Wythenshawe, south Manchester.
The 'New Foxfield' development will create 44, two-, three- and four-bedroom houses; eight two-bedroom bungalows and 16 two-bedroom apartments. All the properties will be for social and affordable rent through Parkway Green. The site was previously occupied by Orlit pre-cast reinforced concrete homes which have been demolished.
The 68-week construction programme for the new development is going ahead with funding from the Government's Affordable Homes Programme and will be delivered through the JV North Partnership. Lovell was selected for the New Foxfield scheme through a competitive tendering process. The architects are Bernard Taylor Partnership.
Nigel Wilson, Chief Executive of Parkway Green, said: "We are delighted that building has now started on 68 new homes for the Trust - our biggest new-build project to date. We want to leave a lasting legacy in our communities and this development will provide more affordable social housing in Wythenshawe and help improve the area."
