Specialist housing contractor and developer United House has seen a great start to 2012, securing six new refurbishment contracts with local authorities and housing providers.
The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has instructed United House on a hat-trick of new contracts, doubling the amount of refurbishment work the contractor is currently undertaking in the borough. These include a £2 million kitchen and bathroom replacement scheme taking place across the borough which started at the beginning of this year and is due to complete by the end of April. United House has also already begun work on a borough-wide external enveloping scheme expected to be ready by the end of June. The third contract awarded involves the rewiring and central heating replacement of a further 250 homes – including updated kitchens and bathrooms as part of the project. Work is due to start later this month and complete in May.
Phoenix Community Housing in Lewisham has appointed United House to carry out the £2.5 million full-scale internal and external refurbishment of 101 homes across four blocks on the Passfields Estate in Bellingham. Works are already underway and are due to be complete in May to June 2012.
Affordable housing provider Guinness South, a member of The Guinness Partnership, has instructed United House to complete the £2.3 million external refurbishment of Holbein House on Holbein Place, which comprises two five-storey mansion blocks in Belgravia, SW1. Work on this project started in January and is expected to finish in June.
