Staff at Morgan Sindall are calling for volunteers to take part in a Spring Clean at Chesil Beach on Sunday 4th March 2012.

The construction firm, which is currently on site building a new £800,000 extension to the Chesil Beach Centre, is working together with the Dorset Wildlife Trust and the wardens of The Chesil Bank and Fleet Nature Reserve to organise the litter-pick ahead of the completion of the redeveloped visitor centre.

The clean-up will start from the Chesil Beach Centre and run from 10am to 12pm. Volunteers wanting to take part should wear appropriate warm clothing and garden gloves or similar.

Paul Gale, area director for Morgan Sindall, said: "We are looking forward to getting our hands dirty and doing our bit to ensure Chesil Beach is kept tidy - and what better way than with a Spring Clean.

"The rare and beautiful beaches around the centre provide vital natural habitat for our marine wildlife, so it's really important that we all do our bit and look after this natural heritage site. We hope lots of people join us at the beach clean-up."

The extension of the centre is due to complete in July and will provide a range of additional facilities including educational space and indoor catering.
