Essential maintenance works at Queensgate Bus Station have been completed two days ahead of schedule.
The works started on Thursday 19 January 2012 and were due to be completed by Sunday 19 February 2012.
However, even though the unforeseen bad weather made progress more difficult, works have still been completed quicker than anticipated.
Councillor Peter Hiller, Cabinet Member for Housing, Neighbourhoods and Planning, said: "Phase one of the works was completed four days ahead of schedule so I am pleased that the second phase has followed suit and the bus station will re-open fully sooner than expected.
"We appreciate the patience of passengers whilst the essential maintenance works have been ongoing. These works could not have been avoided however we have pulled out all the stops to complete them as quickly as possible. The bus station will now be able to serve the city well for a number of years to come."
