Spit are continuing to add to their range with the introduction of their new B1 and B3 Expanding Polyurethane Foams, which improve on the previous foams that were available in the past.
The B1 Foam is fire rated to EN1366 conformities by the Warrington Fire Institute, and provides 4 hours fire resistance without the requirement for over-capping. It delivers a high bonding strength and is ideal for use in the fire and smoke sealing of partition walls and windows, as well as sealing fire doors, particularly where a specific approved fire resistance is required.
The B3 foam offers a new, improved flow with 10% extra yield and is perfect for use in mounting window and door frames, as well as the heat insulation of water pipe networks, sewerage and central heating systems. It can also be used for fixing wall panels, roof tiles and corrugated plates.
Both foams present minimal shrinkage and good cell structure, which means they are more likely to maintain a full seal in joints and are less likely to break down in movement. This makes them ideal for use in certain sealing, filling and insulation applications. The foams offer a level of mould and moisture resistance and are resistant to temperatures ranging from -40°C to +90°C.
An applicator gun is available for the foams, as well as a Polyurethane Cleaner, designed to dissolve and remove uncured foam. The cleaner can also be used to degrease metal surfaces prior to the application of silicones or foams.
